Weaving for Climate Justice in Minneapolis: Sat., Aug. 13th, 11:00am to 12:30pm

Know any weavers in Minneapolis! Send them our way!

I've been invited to serve on a small team to encourage community participation with a People's Climate and Equity Plan for Minneapolis. A few young women and I will be hosting a climate healing circle on Saturday, August 13th from 11:00am to 12:30pm.  I’ve attached our flyer and you may click Climate Circle to access the event via Facebook.

We will have a special guest at our event: Kenda Zellner-Smith, the young activist who, following the murder of George Floyd, collected the protest art (on plywood used to board up windows) to memorialize the movement. Click Save the Boards Reminds Mpls. of Impact of George Floyd's Murder.

Kenda will be bringing a few of her boards to our event, as well as smaller boards and paint as an option for those who might like to express themselves or create during our time together.

Please join us if you canβ€”and help us spread the news. You might also consider adopting a People's Climate and Equity Plan in your city. Congratulations to Portland, OR for being the first to adopt one!

In weaving solidarity,

Kate Towle
